Website Evaluation (20)
As a teacher using technology you must be very critical in your selection of websites. Out of the billion websites available, how do you select the ones that will help students learn the most? In this assignment, you will be selecting and reviewing 5 educational sites to use with children from Kathy Schrock's site or by conducting a Google search of your own for relevant educational related sites. If using Kathy Schrock's website, the best way to find sites for students is to click on a topic under SUBJECT ACCESS. Write a 1-2 paragraph evaluation for each site you evaluate. The first paragraph should include the website name, and a brief description of what it is having the learner do. The next paragraph should be evaluative. It should include the benefits as well as limitations of the site as related to student learning. Include your own form of scoring for the site (i.e. grade, stars, how many thumbs up...ect.)
Finally, you will notice that as you evaluated the sites, you have develop your own list of criteria that you have judged the sites by. For example, you may think that the design of the page, ease of navigation, or pop-up ads are the most important things to consider when reviewing a website. At the end of this paper, include the five most important criteria you used to judge the sites.
