We, the undersigned, support the low-impact use of the woods and wetlands in and around Silver Lake on Valparaiso's northwest side as a recreational park, bike and walking pathway, wildlife viewing area and natural science education venue rather than as a corridor for the extensions of Vale Park Road and several neighborhood streets to the south.  A Silver Lake park would promote the family activities, healthy lifestyles and lifelong learning our community so values.  In addition, low cost, recreational use of the land would save taxpayers over $500,000.
