Subject: Silver Lake

Hi
I just got your green flyer in my door about Silver Lake and it makes me sick what they are going to do with that road.  I live at 2605 Sears Street and it's on the other side of the land to the south.  I live directly next to the parking lot of Christ Lutheran Church on Campbell St. and have lived here for 30 years.  The laziness of the people in this town never ceases to amaze me.. since I live one street over from Campbell on Sears with no street to connect people have driven through my yard until I fenced it and have been a constant problem cutting from my street through the church parking lot through to Campbell at high rates of speed all because they are too lazy to drive around to Campbell Street.  It has been a constant battle to get that area blocked off and I know that when the city wants something they usually
get their way. My biggest fear is that once that extension is in, the city in their infinite wisdom will decide they need to make Sears Street a through street to the extension. I and many of the other homes in this small tract have always had water in our crawlspaces and as a matter of fact I am pumping enough for a swimming
pool as I write this.  So I don't need any more of that.  But the thing that makes me sickest is just for the sake of a few ounces of gasoline, theyre gonna cut through that nice place where I see deer and all kinds of critters all the time and there's so few places left like that in Valpo.  So I will write to Steve Sprecher and I also want to let you know I work at the Post-Tribune and though I'm not a writer I wanted to give you the name of the Porter County editor if you don't have it. It's Michelle Holmes
and her number is 477-6011.  (I think) I'm not at work.. If I find it's different I will drop you a note.  Try calling her when you have info to get out to the public.
Thanks for the update.
