Chapter 2  Linear equations and applications

1. Linear equation in one variable   Ax + B = C   where A, B and C are constants representing real numbers, with A not equal to 0.

2. Solving linear equations-  bear in mind in any equation that you add/subtract the same number to both sides or multiply/divide with the same number on both sides of the equation with out changing the solution. Use these operations to solve for the unknown.

3. Applied problems-  Read the problem well. Make a table or draw diagrams/figures as appropriate.  Identify the primary and secondary variables. Set up the equation and solve. Check your solution to see whether it makes sense.
