Chapter 2    Kinematics in one dimension

Concepts:  Displacement,

                Average and instantaneous velocities (rate of change of displacement)

                Acceleration (rate of change of velocity),

                Speed (scalar),  velocity (vector)

 Constant acceleration- Equations relating x, v, vo, a and t

                                    v = vo + at

                                    x = (vo + v)t/2

                                    x =  vot + at2/2

                                    v2 = vo2 + 2ax

Bodies under free fall-  constant downward acceleration of 9.8 m/s2 or 32 ft/s2

Interpreting displacement-time graphs,  and velocity-time graphs
