Displacement, Velocity and Acceleration vectors

Projectile motion:

                            Recognize that x and y motions occur independently of each other.

                            Apply  the equations of kinematics to the x and y motions

                            x - motion takes place at constant velocity- no acceleration

                            y- motion takes place with a constant acceleration of  -9.8 m/s2

 

                            x-motion:      x = vox t ; vx  is the same all through its flight

                            y-motion:      vy = voy + ay t;   y = voyt + ayt2/2;  vy2 = voy2 + 2ayy
